NURS 6401
This course introduces students to concepts, terminologies and principles related to nursing and health information systems. It familiarizes participants with information systems management, explores database design, implementation and retrieval issues and seeks solutions to address nursing and health information management. It also introduces students to the capabilities of microcomputer, internet navigation and basic skills in manipulating multiple records in word processing, electronic spreadsheets and managing data bases. Students are enabled to navigate databases, access and transform data into information for nursing research and enhancing the overall quality of nursing and health care. Legal ethical issues related to information and knowledge use are also explored
