Abstract:

When he accepted the position of Principal of The Mico Teachers’ College in September 1972, Errol Laurence Miller, well known for his courageous spirit in meeting challenges, was not unaware of the colossal task ahead. Aware as he was of the rich traditions of the institution that he needed to preserve, he was also fully cognizant of the need to make his mark as an educator and administrator. The annals of The Mico are replete with the many ways in which he distinguished himself as educator, innovator, developer, financier, and humanitarian. His eight-and-a-half-year administration was one of expansion and modernization in a bid to meet the needs of the growing population of students and staff.
