This qualitative study focused on the perceptions of a group of inner-city grade four boys who engaged in a Jamaican Arts-based Multi-method Instructional Network (JAMIN), a literacy programme that was gradually designed and implemented over one school year. The boys attend Bethlehem Primary, which is situated in an inner-city community in East Kingston. This heuristic phenomenological study drew upon aspects of action research and case study; hence it utilized a multi-method approach.
