The Journal of Education and Development in the Caribbean was first launched in Guyana twelve years ago. Its objectives then are the same as now: (i) to provide an outlet for the deliberations and research which must inform educational decision-making and development issues in the Caribbean; (ii) to provide a linkage between professionals, including classroom teachers, who are interested or involved in Caribbean education; and (iii) to disseminate the findings from studies which, though carried out in other parts of the world, hold relevance for education and development in the Caribbean.
