Porto Santo

Cluster 9:

Named in reference to EU member country Portugal

A former home to the first Prestonite to become Guild President - Mr. Jovaughn Neil, Porto Santo has produced some of the most talented individuals in sports and culture to walk through Preston.

Porto Santo was home to Ms. Roslyn Khan, one of the earlier Resident Advisors who was instrumental in the programming of the Preston Entertainment and Cultural Ensemble (P.E.A.C.E). The cluster was once home to many of the hall's choir members among whom was Mr. Gregory Simms, former Hall Chairperson, former Chorale Director and Peace President, and founder of the Jamaica Youth Chorale.

Porto Santo has been a fierce competitor in zone sports such as cricket, football and track. Of note is Mr. Richard Robinson (Synergy), who in 2006 established a record time at UWI Sports Day for the 800m and Mr. Maurice Clarke (Batsman) who played cricket for Preston and the UWI.

Porto Santo is a member of Zone 2.
