MonaLaw Top Graduate ‘LITROW HICKSON’ Continues to Shine

Litrow Hickson, Valedictorian and First Class Honors recipient (Class of 2014) has once again made the Faculty proud, as word of his recent triumph in court travelled through the Faculty.  Mrs. Sandra Minott-Phillips QC, along with Litrow, appeared on behalf of the appellant (Sagicor Bank of Jamaica) before the United Kingdom Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (UK JCPC) on March 22nd, 2018. The team presented undisputed evidence against the respondent, who had owed the bank a substantial amount from loans provided.

During his time at MonaLaw, Litrow has proven himself a leader, one that is destined for greatness and one that will propel Jamaica’s justice system. Litrow held the prestigious title as ‘6th Best Oralist’ in the Munroe E. Price Media Law Moot, President of the Student Association- MonaLaw Society as well as the Representative from the Faculty to sit on the Guild of Students Committee. He was called to the Jamaican Bar in 2016 and is now an Associate with the Myers, Fletcher and Gordon Litigation Department, where he practices general Civil Litigation, Medical Negligence, Maritime and Admiralty Law and Personal Injury Law. As a current tutor in the Faculty, Litrow is held in high esteem by his colleagues and we anxiously await his next successful venture.
