The UWI, Mona through the Departments of Modern Languages and Literatures and History and Archaeology have organized the 23rd Annual Conference of the Haitian Studies Association under the theme, "Haiti at the Intersection for the Caribbean: Tracing the Past, Mapping the Future.” The Conference takes place on November 10-12, 2011 in the Faculty of Humanities and Education, UWI, Mona.

"Mental Health in Jamaica - The Way Forward" is the theme of this year's Jamaica Psychiatric Association's Annual Conference organized by the Department of Community Health and Psychiatry (Section of Psychiatry), UWI, Mona. The Conference takes place on Sunday, August 14, 2011 starting at 8:30 am at the Mona Visitors' Lodge and Conference Centre, UWI, Mona. The main lecture which is entitled, "Personality Disorder and Conflict in Jamaica" is being delivered by Professor Emeritus Frederick Hickling, UWI, Mona.
