Writers ' Workshop by Lorna Goodison
Distinguished Jamaican writer, Lorna Goodison, will conduct a workshop for aspiring writers on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.
Elect Her 2013
Elect Her is a one-day training programme that encourages university women to run for student government on their campus in the hopes that they will later run for elected office at the highest levels of leadership.
The Mary Seacole Hall with the help of the American Association of University Women will host an Elect Her training session for 100 participants from universities and colleges across Jamaica along with sixth form students of select secondary schools. UWI Mona is the only campus outside of North America that hosts this renowned annual event.

5th Annual Nephrology Conference
Minister of Health, Dr. Fenton Ferguson will speak at the Opening Ceremony of the 5th Annual Nephrology Conference organized by Caribbean Institute of Nephrology, in collaboration The University of the West Indies, Mona, University of Michigan and University of Minnesota. The Conference which will focus on Nephrology and Hypertension is set to take place on January 24-26 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.

The UWI School of Nursing will be hosting the 23rd Nursing and Midwifery Research Conference and 24th Mary J. Seivwright Day entitled “Evidence-based practice: Promoting excellence in patient care”. Day 1 will focus on the Poster presentations related to the title of the conference and the keynote speaker will make a presentation as well.
