Norman Manley Law School 40th Anniversary Concert
Norman Manley Law School celebrates 40 years since its doors opened in 1973. One of the final events being staged in commemoration of this anniversary is a talent show featuring alumni, Students and staff. Talent in all the arts will be on display and a fashion show will feature Judges, Senior members of staff and students on the Runway.
The cost of the event is $2000. Tickets will also be available at the gate. Download event flyer.

Film Screening: "Forward Ever: The Killing of a Revolution"

Includes a half hour discussion session with a panel of academic experts.

In his inaugural Professorial Lecture, Professor Byron Wilson continues his crusade for Jamaica's endemic natural heritage. He joins us to outline the value of Jamaica's endemic wildlife, and the true cost of their disappearance.
Plus, International Students' Office's Althea Gordon Clennon talks about the successes of the study abroad programmes, and shows students how they can spread their wings while at UWI Mona.

Student Technical team Fundraising Concert
Student technicians who work at the Phillip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts (PSCCA) have come up with a creative way of meeting the deadline for their tuition payments - A Fundraising Concert. Please come out and support them. Admission $300
If you can't make it this evening, feel fee to purchase a ticket at the PSCCA to support the students.

Film screening - "Shungu - the Resilience of a People"
The Rastafari Studies Unit presents "A focus on Zimbabwe", anchored by the award- winning Film, "Shungu" by Saki Mafundikwa, who will also be present.
Documentary screening- African veterans of the Great War
The French Embassy in collaboration with The Department of History & Archaeology and The Department of Government, UWI Mona present a showing of the documentary “Les Combattants Africains De La Grande Guerre” [Translation: ‘African Veterans of the Great War’]. Using the testimonies of veterans, the documentary takes a look at African soldiers who fought during World War 1.
This showing is held in commemoration of the First World War Centenary (1914 -2014).
Movie: 'The Story of Lovers Rock'
The Department of Sociology, Psychology and Social Work and the Department of Literatures in English, UWI, Mona Campus present the screening of the Documentary, The Story of Lover’s Rock, a Film by Menelik Shabazz about the soothing romantic sub-Genre of Reggae that took a foothold amongst the Black Community in England. Key Jamaican contributors to this Genre were Sugar Minott, Gregory Isaacs and Dennis Brown
