NDTC Celebratory Benefit Performance - IGDS
The Institute for Gender and Development Studies, University of the West Indies, Mona, will be hosting a special benefit performance during the National Dance Theatre Company’s annual Season of Dance, at a cost of $1,500.00 per ticket. This will be a Celebratory Benefit Performance in honour and memory of Mrs Louraine Emmanuel, a beloved and missed former employee who was seen by many as one of the founding mothers of the IGDS, and a former member of the NDTC singers.

Demonstration of the 'Electric Pan' - a new instrument created by UWI
The Percussive Harmonic Instrument (PHI), also known as the 'electric pan' is the latest technological innovation of the Steel Pan Initiatives Project of the University of the West Indies, (St Augustine campus). The PHI is a fully synthesized, MIDI-based instrument which enables the user to access authentic steel pan tones as well as a variety of instrument tones. The Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts will be hosting a demonstration of the ‘electric pan’ by Darren Sheppard in the Sherlock Theatre at the UWI, Mona. All interested persons are invited. The event is free of cost.

The Greater August Town Film Festival
The Centre for Tourism and Policy Research, University of the West Indies, Mona, presents the Greater August Town Film Festival showcasing film projects produced by youth of the Greater August Town community. You are cordially invited to attend the Opening Night scheduled for Friday, June 21, at 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. On show will be feature films and trailers, and in attendance wil be local and international award winning filmmakers. University Singers Concert Season 2013
The University Singers presents its Concert Season 2013, "From Holy Mount Zion to the I-Threes, every note is an absolute treat". The Season runs from May 24 to June 23 at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, UWI, Mona.
Shows run from Thursdays to Sundays at 8pm, with two shows on Sundays at 4pm and 8pm.

University Players presents 'Departure in the Dark'
For its next major production, the award-winning Jamaican theatre company will present a new staging of a play from the pre-Independence period entitled, ‘Departure in the Dark’ by Jamaican playwright Samuel Hillary. The revival of this classic Jamaican ‘yard play’ will be staged by award-winning director Brian Heap, with a cast of seasoned performers led by University Players and pantomime veteran actors, Nadean Rawlins as Lilian Martin and Melward Morris as her nephew Ivan. Other cast members include Julene Robinson, Jean-Paul Menou, Elizabeth Brown, Jacquie Higgins, Audley Green and Shanique Brown.
'Departure in the Dark' plays on Thursdays to Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays @ 6 p.m.

Africa World Documentary Film Festival
The University of the West Indies, Mona campus, in association with the University of Missouri presents the Africa World documentary Film Festival at the Neville Hall Lecture Theatre. Admission is Free. The Opening ceremony takes place on April 24 at 6:00 p.m. while the film screenings begin 2:00 p.m. each day starting April 25 to 28. Films include 'Dear Mandela'; 'Rwanda 17: Healing a nation; and 'I am Gay and Muslim'. See event flyer

The University Singers presents “This Joyful Eastertide”
For fifty two years, the University Singers has distinguished itself as one of the leading choral groups in the Caribbean, widely noted for its versatility, spanning a varied number of musical genres including Classical, American Negro Spirituals, Jazz, Caribbean Folk, Gospel and Local and International Popular music. A special feature of the choir’s repertoire is the original music of Caribbean composers.
On Easter Sunday, March 31, The University Singers presents “This Joyful Eastertide”, a Programme of vocal sacred music at the University Chapel, Mona, commencing at 5 pm. The choir will sing anthems of well-known classical composers as well as “He was crucified”, an Easter anthem composed by the choir’s conductor, Franklin Halliburton.

UWI Panoridim's Panfest 2013
A musical (and whimsical) production surrounding the numbers 1 to 10, starting April 11 and ending April 14. With tributes to the late Dave Brubeck, and the voice of Sesame Street's Count von Count, the late Jerry Nelson. UWI screening of the film "Bob Marley: The Making of a Legend"
The Institute of Caribbean Studies and the Reggae Studies Unit presents the UWI Screening of the award-winning film "Bob Marley: The Making of a Legend" written and directed by Esther Anderson and Gian Godoy.
