Sexuality Workshop
The Department of Sociology, Psychology & Social Work Clinical Psychology programme presents a Sexuality Workshop under the theme “The Changing Faces of Sex/Sexuality.” The workshop takes place on Friday, April 20 at 10 am in Graduate Lecture Theatre (GLT) 3, Sir Alister McIntyre Building. The presenters will be Anastasia Whyte, MSc. Applied Psychology Candidate and Dr. Karen Carpenter, Psychologist/Research Consultant.
Vice Chancellor Calls for Sixty Exceptional UWI Academics under 60 years old
"The University of the West Indies has begun the process of Planning for a University-wide celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the founding of the institution. We would like to prepare a Publication entitled "60 Exceptional UWI Academics". I am seeking the help of the full UWI Community in identifying twenty academics under 40 years old, twenty between 40 and 50 years old and twenty between 50 and 60 years old who have made exceptional scholarly contributions, particularly if some of those contributions have benefited the Region.
“Little Lion at Bat Book Launch”
Kellie Magnus, Editorial Director at the Caribbean Institute of Media and Communication (CARIMAC) and Director of CARIMAC’s business unit, CARIMAC.com launches another Caribbean centred children’s book titled "Little Lion at
Bat," a sequel to "Little Lion Goes to School." The launch takes place on Tuesday, April 3 at Caribbean Business Club at 6:30 pm.
Book Launch - Fear of Stones and other Stories
The West Indian Association of Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies (WIACLALS) and The Department of Literatures in English, UWI, Mona will host the launch of Andrew 'Kei' Miller's book titled Fear of Stones and other Stories. The launch will be held on Wednesday, March 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Multifunctional Room of the Main Library, UWI, Mona. The book was short-listed for the 2007 Regional Commonwealth Writer's Prize.

All final year students of the University of the West Indies are invited to complete the Exit Survey in order to evaluate the level of satisfaction of the educational experiences at UWI. First World Social Work Day
Social Workers worldwide celebrate the first World Social Work Day on Tuesday, March 27 under the theme Social Work: Making a World of Difference, highlighting the positive changes made by social workers people’s lives.
To commemorate this occasion, the Social Work Unit, UWI, Mona in collaboration with the Jamaica Association of Social Workers, (JASW) and the Northern Caribbean University will mount an exhibition showcasing the services offered by these agencies at the McIntyre Building between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m
Mystic Revelation of Rastafari
Institute of Caribbean Studies and the Reggae Studies Unit, UWI, Mona presents Mystic Revelation of Rastafari in Concert in the Humanities Courtyard on Thursday, March 29 at 2:00 p.m.

New Security Provider at Mona
The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, will have a new Security Provider effective April 1. Guardsman Limited has been awarded a two-year contract as security provider on the decision of the Finance & General Purposes Committee meeting of February 28, 2007.
Overstanding Rastafari
Under the patronage of Professor Carolyn Cooper, The Reggae Studies Unit, UWI, Mona will host the launch of the book Overstanding Rastafari – “Jamaica’s Gift to the World” authored by Yasus Afari. The launch takes place on Thursday, March 29 at the Undercroft at 6:00 p.m. Guest speakers will be Dr. Clinton Hutton, Professor Barry Chevannes and Professor Verene Shepherd.
The Frank Worrell Commemorative Blood Drive
The University of the West Indies, Mona annual March Blood Drive has been renamed The Frank Worrell Commemorative Blood Drive in honour of legendary cricketer, Sir Frank Worrell and to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his death. The Blood Drive takes place on Tuesday, March 27 and Wednesday, March 28 from 9 am to 6 pm in the Assembly Hall, UWI, Mona under the theme, “It’s a Habit for Life!”
