Research Compliance
Research Compliance at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus (UWI, Mona) refers to a structured system of principles, policies, procedures, and oversight mechanisms that ensure all research is conducted ethically, legally, and in accordance with the highest standards of quality. It promotes transparency, safeguards institutional integrity, supports intellectual property management, and aligns with institutional, regional and international accountability standards.
Accountability Structure
The Accountability Structure for research compliance is led by the Mona Office for Research and Innovation (MORI) which works in close collaboration with key campus entities to ensure adherence to ethical, legal and operational standards in research. These include:
- Mona Campus Research Ethics Committee (MCREC)
- Campus Legal Office (CLO)
- Bursary, Special Projects Unit (SPU)
- Human Resources Management Division
- Office of Strategic Partnerships and Enterprise Management (OSPEM)
