Mr William Mahfood, Chairman of the Wisynco Group has been appointed Chairman of Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) with effect on August 1, 2023.

He boasts an illustrious career in manufacturing and distribution which started in 1988 with Wisynco Trading Limited, leading to a 20 year stint as the Managing Director followed by his appointment as Chairman of the Wisynco Group in 2014. His experience in this area also includes his tenure as Director of Trade Wind Citrus Ltd, Worthy Park Estates and JP Snacks Caribbean. 

Mr Mahfood’s business acumen is also leveraged in other industries as he serves as Chairman of JN Money Services, Director of the Jamaica National Group and Elite Diagnostic and served as President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica (PSOJ) between 2014-16.

In recognition of his contribution to business and society, Mr Mahfood was awarded the 2016 American Chamber of Commerce Business and Civic Leadership Award for Excellence – President’s Award for his contribution to national development and Brand Jamaica and he was also awarded the American Friends of Jamaica 2017 International Humanitarian Award in recognition of his contribution to the improvement of the lives of countless Jamaicans.

Mr Mahfood succeeds Mr Patrick Hylton, President and CEO, NCB Group who served as Chairman since August 2021 in his second stint as Chairman of MSBM. 

Joining Mr Mahfood are three other new Directors who are Mrs Audrey Tugwell Henry, President & CEO, Scotia Group Jamaica Limited, Mr Steven Gooden, Chief Executive Officer of NCB Capital Markets Ltd and Professor Sterling K. Frost, Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Operations and Administration First Citizens Group, Trinidad and Tobago.
