SMC Teach, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of the SMC Group, was founded in 2020 by CEO Maurice Hamilton - an alumnus of the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM) at UWI Mona. Originally launched to provide core academic support to students aged 14–16 during the COVID-19 pandemic, the initiative has expanded to focus on preparing youths for end-of-school final examinations and guiding their transition from school to the workforce.
In 2024, SMC Teach introduced InvesTeen, an initiative designed to equip youths aged 13–18 with essential investing fundamentals. Across its 2024 and 2025 cohorts, the programme served 120 participants - including youths from at-risk communities - and facilitated the opening of new capital markets/investment accounts. The August 2026 cohort expanded this impact, training an additional 70 students.
