Abstract:

In spite of seeming global indecision regarding the significance of teacher education, the Caribbean Journal of Education (CJE) has provided space for academics to research, discuss and theorize the education of teachers for the last 35 years. A review of some thirty articles from 1975 to the present, including a special issue titled Issues Affecting Teacher Education (CJE 19 (1) April 1997) suggests that Caribbean researchers have been paying careful atention to several of the issues considered foundational (Cochran, Feiman-Nemser, McIntyre, and Demers, 2008) in teacher education.
