The Caribbean School of Media and Communication (CARIMAC), in collaboration with Southern Oregon University (SOU) and the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS), UWI Mona, will close out its 50th Anniversary Celebrations with a public forum on Media and Democracy.
The forum will take the form of a panel discussion under the theme, "Democracy in the Digital Age: Challenges and Opportunities for Jamaica’s Media Landscape" and will feature faculty from both FSS and SOU as well as members of the local journalism fraternity.
The forum is open to University students from various disciplines (journalism, political science, sociology, communication, etc.); student organizations focused on media, politics, or social issues; faculty members and researchers interested in media and democracy; media and communication practitioners across all disciplines; and educators and policymakers interested involved in the promotion of democracy and youth development.
