Funding & Study Partners

The study’s primary funding is through a grant from the Japanese Special Fund
which is administered by the Inter-American Development Bank [3].  The study has
also received grants from the World Bank [4], UNICEF [5] and the National
Health Fund [6]. 

A collaborative research partnership was formed with Michigan State University [7] and colleagues and the University of Texas [8]. These partnerships allowed for the collection and storage of maternal antenatal blood samples and cord blood samples for participants who consented to this aspect of the study.
