ABOUT US: THE STUDY
Study Sweeps
JA KIDS is one of the first cohort studies conducted in a developing country to collect data during the antenatal period. The antenatal phase of the study took place between March and September 2011. During this time, JA KIDS interviewers recruited pregnant women (expected to give birth between July and September 2011) from public and private antenatal clinics throughout Jamaica. During these interviews participants were asked questions about their pregnancy history, health and well-being, home and community environment and parenting expectations/practices. Five thousand two hundred and four (5204) mothers participated in this phase of the study.
