Introduction: Thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) has a prevalence of approximately 7% in the adult population. Malignant transformation in TGDC is rare and accounts for about 1% of all these cyts of which the majority are papillary carcinomas. Squamous cell carcinoma is even rarer with only a few cases reported in the literature. There is no published literature in the West Indies regarding the management of squamous cell carcinoma in a TGDC. This report highlights such a case and aims to review the current diagnosis and treatment of this disease entity.
