Congratulations to our exceptional undergraduate team from the Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI Mona, for their outstanding achievements in the Vincent Hosang UWI Venture Competition 2024/2025! The team won the following awards that were announced at the awards ceremony on January 24, 2025:

• Top Undergraduate Team
• Corporate Responsibility
• 2nd Place in the Vincent Hosang Competition

These accolades were awarded for their innovative app, FreshJamaica (FreshJA), designed to revolutionize the delivery of farm produce in Jamaica. FreshJA connects you directly to local farmers and vendors, offering fresh, affordable produce delivered right to your doorstep.

The team consists of: 

• Christian Douglas (Marketing & Design): A 3rd-year Computer Science student and creative visionary, responsible for curating the brand and fostering customer connections.
• Josiah-John Green (App Development): A 3rd-year Software Engineering student and upcoming tech expert, building the platform that powers FreshJA.
• Roshae Sinclair (Research & Outreach): A final-year Computer Science student and AI enthusiast, working closely with farmers to ensure FreshJA meets their needs.
• Somesh Sharma (Negotiation & Collaboration): A 2nd-year Medical Physics student with a talent for negotiation and innovation, driving the project forward.

This team is paving the way for a sustainable and innovative future for Jamaican farmers and consumers alike.
