Final Round! UWI Physics Olympiad 2026

The final round of the 2026 UWI Physics Olympiad was held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, in the Department of Physics at The University of the West Indies, Mona (The UWI Mona). Twenty-nine invited finalists from the first round returned to campus to compete in a timed experimental challenge designed to assess practical laboratory skills, including scientific measurement, data handling, interpretation of results, and the careful use of equipment. Competitors rotated through a series of experimental stations, each structured to test different aspects of their experimental technique and problem-solving ability. The event proceeded smoothly with the support of student volunteers Andrew Smart, Danielle Smart, Dominic Collins, Myra Watt, and Shavon Lloyd, along with staff members Alexandra De Freitas and Karlus Redway. The successful staging of the final round marked the conclusion of the competitive phase of the Olympiad, ahead of the upcoming awards ceremony scheduled for April 11, 2026.
