Mr. Ricaldo Pryce (Graduate student, Department of Chemistry), attended the 9th International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) Annual Conference on Green Chemistry (ICGC) which was held in Athens, Greece from the September 5-9, 2022. Mr. Pryce gave a presentation on “Synthesis of novel stemodane analogues and their biotransformation by Exophiala lecanii-corni” and fielded questions from the other attendees. The presentation was well received and congratulatory comments were given by the other attendees. Mr. Pryce’s trip was funded by the Office of Graduate Studies and Research along with contributions from the Dean’s Office and the Chemistry Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI Mona. Ricaldo noted, “Attending the 9th IUPAC conference on Green Chemistry was an unforgettable experience. It gave me the opportunity to be exposed to cutting-edge research in the field, interact with scientists from all over the world and learn about a new culture. Representing my university on the international stage was also a privilege and has opened up new doors for my academic and professional career.”
