During his tenure in the FST, he received Academic Commendation, was inducted into the George Alleyne and Computing Honors Societies, and served as a lab assistant supporting over 200 students. He also contributed as Event Coordinator and Deputy PRO for the Computing Department, connecting studies to career exploration through creative initiatives.

Vedang’s innovation work includes winning 1st place in the Jamaica AI Association Christmas Hackathon with Finny, improving financial literacy, and placing Top 12 in the Intellibus AI Hackathon for Neural Hands, an American Sign Language learning platform. He was a finalist in the Vincent Hosang Venture Competition with OnePot, an affordable meal-prep service, and won 2nd place at the Productivity Innovation Awards for Dopameen, a gamified productivity tool. He recently launched Ctrl Learn, a project breaking down AI, security, and tech best practices. He has also volunteered with FST, the Computing Department, and the First Tech Robotics Competition, mentoring high school robotics teams in Jamaica.
In his third year, Vedang overcame a sports injury, completing eight months of physiotherapy while successfully continuing his studies. Today, he graduates with a mission to give back, inspire others, and contribute meaningfully to Jamaica’s tech industry.
