Computing HoD Launches book on Business Intelligence for SMEs

Dr. Gunjan Mansingh, Head of the Department of Computing  is one of three authors of the a new book entitled Business Intelligence for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises. Other authors are Dr. Lila Rao-Graham and Dr. Maurice McNaughton from the Mona School of Business and Management (MSBM). The book was launched at The Courtyard of the MSBM, UWI on December 4, 2019. In his address, Mr. Courtney Campbell, President and CEO of the Victorial Mutua Group, and guest speaker at the launch, praised the book as a “good” and “important” read for the business community irrespective of size. The book details a highly adaptable process model for implementing business intelligence in SMEs which was formulated from the collective experiences of the authors and based on the Agile Integrated Methodology for Strategic Business Intelligence (AimS-BI). Other speakers at the launch were Dr. David McBean, Executive Director of MSBM, Mr. Lloyd Distant, President of the Jamaica Chamber of Comemrce, Prof. Michael Taylor, Dean of FST, and Prof. Evan Duggan who chaired the event. Also in attendance was the Honourable Fayval Williams, Minister of Science, Energy and Technology, Senator Aubyn Hill, PVC Richard Bernal, and numerous academic colleagues, family and friends of the authors. The book can be purchased at the UWI bookshop.
