Mr. Jordon Freeman, a graduate student in Biotechnology, and Mr. Rahje Shields, an alumnus of the Department of Physics, participated in the 2023 Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Fellowship Program. Jordan and Rahje were selected from more than 1,800 applicants from 37 countries. This prestigious and highly competitive program, organized by the U.S. Department of State brought together 280 of the most outstanding entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the Western Hemisphere for an intensive entrepreneurial leadership development program that included an online entrepreneurial leadership curriculum, a four-week professional placement (May - June) with a U.S. host organization, and a Closing Forum in Washington D.C.
