FST's Chemist is Caribbean Representative on GOA-ON Executive Council

The Faculty of Science and Technology, The University of the West Indies, Mona extends congratulations to Dr. Debbie-Ann Gordon-Smith (Lecturer, Department of Chemistry) on her recent appointment as the Caribbean Representative on the Executive Council of the Global Ocean Acidification Observing Network (GOA-ON), effective November 1, 2023. This significant role underscores Dr. Gordon-Smith's expertise and commitment to advancing our understanding of global ocean acidification (OA). Her knowledge will contribute significantly to shaping policies, strategies, and initiatives that address the unique challenges faced by Caribbean marine ecosystems.

GOA-ON is a collaborative international network aimed at improving the understanding of global ocean acidification (OA), the ecosystem response to OA, and the acquisition and exchange of data and knowledge necessary to optimize modeling for OA and its impacts. The Faculty wishes Dr. Gordon-Smith all the best with her new portfolio.
