Ms. Jhénelle Williams, Senior Scientific Officer at the Centre for Marine Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, The University of the West Indies Mona, participated in the "Isotope Hydrology to Support Small Island States Affected by Climate Change" Technical Meeting, held at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria, from October 15-18, 2024. As the sole representative from Jamaica, Jhénelle joined experts from countries including Barbados, the Faroe Islands, Mauritius, Canada, Cuba, and Cabo Verde.
With prior experience as an Isotope Hydrology Intern at the IAEA, Jhénelle continues to make significant contributions to marine and environmental research, particularly in the areas of monitoring and assessment. She collaborates closely with both the IAEA and the International Centre for Environmental and Nuclear Sciences (ICENS) on projects aimed at addressing the impacts of climate change on small island states.
