The Faculty of Science and Technology extends congratulations to Professor Marcia Roye, who was named the 2023 recipient of the RJR Gleaner Honour Award for Science and Technology. She is recognized for her outstanding contributions in molecular virology research, particularly in developing disease-reducing solutions for local agricultural crops, including cabbage. Professor Roye is also acknowledged for fostering international collaboration and mentoring numerous students.
Currently, Professor Roye holds the position of Director of the Office of Graduate Studies and Research at The University of the West Indies (UWI) Mona. Simultaneously, she fulfills her research and teaching responsibilities at the Caribbean Centre for Research in Bioscience within the Faculty of Science and Technology.
