The University of the West Indies (UWI) has debuted in the top 40 of the 2018 Times Higher Education (THE) Latin America Rankings, at number 37. The university, being relatively young among its counterparts in the World Rankings was also included in the top 10 percent (10%) of universities (#290) for international outlook and has been included in the top 30 percent (#370) for research influence.
