The Faculty of Science and Technology extends congratulations to Dr. Daniel Fokum who has been appointed as a co-opted member of the Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT) Committee of the National Compliance and Regulatory Authority (NCRA).

Daniel Fokum is a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Computing at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica, where he has taught since 2011. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of Kansas in 2010. Prior to joining the University of Kansas in 2006, he worked in the industry for six years. He received his M.S. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2005, and his B.A. degree from Park University in 2000, both in Computer Science. He is a member of the IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Communication Society, and the ACM. His research interests include software-defined networking, sensor and wireless networks, information security, and concurrency control in databases.
