The Organization of American States (OAS) in partnership with the Inter-American Committee against Terrorism (CICTE) staged the Diplohack Student Challenge 2019. After an initial round, six teams from Jamaica, the United States of America, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago travelled to Washington DC for the finals held from February 20-22, 2019. The Jamaican team comprised 5 UWI students including two from FST - Toni-Ann Willis (Computer Science) and Gisellé Hall (Physics and Geology minor). Other members of the team were Sayeed Bernard (Law), Chavel Ford (Social Sciences), and Kyle Glegg (Medicine) as well as the team’s mentor Dr. Lisa Vasciannie (Government). The UWI team acquitted themselves well and placed second behind the USA following a very close finish. FST congratulates the UWI team!
