I am a full-time M.Phil. History student in the Department, whose course began in 2022. I am attending the U.W.I., Mona, by virtue of a Study Abroad Studentship awarded by the Leverhulme Trust in the UK. I was born in Scarborough, England, and I have a B.A. (Hons.) in History and Politics from Lancaster University. I also worked for a year in the museum and art gallery of the University of Liverpool.
Congratulations to the following Department of History & Archaeology award recipients, recognized for academic excellence at the recently held 2021/2022 Faculty Award Ceremony.
The Bachelor of Arts History and Archaeology is probably the best programme I chose to enrol in. Archaeology inspires me to understand the world around me. Archaeology allows me to hold, examine and sort materials from excavated sites like at Fort Stewart, White Marl, Port Royal and many other places. This degree has allowed me to define and deconstruct culture. Imagine getting to hold the tangible evidence of your History; it’s amazing and I love it! And imagine the ability to shift through layers of History to discover layers of your past.
