Overview
Dr. Chinthapalli Bhaskar Rao is a Molecular Plant Physiologist and Plant Biochemist working on Enzyme purification and regulation. His work involves on C4 photosynthetic enzyme, Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase its purification and phenomenal modulation to temperature at limiting and saturating bicarbonate levels of Amaranthus hypochondriacus (NAD-ME type C4 species), compared to the pattern in Pisum sativum (C3 plant).  Further he worked on Mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascades which are major pathways downstream of sensors/receptors that transduce extracellular stimuli into intracellular responses in Arabidopsis.  With the association as Faculty in Arba Minch University, Ethiopia, he mainly focused on tissue culture and genetic transformation of mulberry (Morus indica L.) and also understanding the biotechnological aspects of plant based foods and their processing. Dr. Chinthapalli joined as a staff in the Department of Life Sciences in February, 2021 and continued to work in the field of Molecular Plant Physiology, Biochemistry and Plant Biotechnology.
