The UWI Parents Information Session (Grades 11 & 12)
The UWI, Mona will be hosting an Information Session for Grade 11 & 12/ Lower 6th Forms Students this Thursday, May 12, 2016, between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm in the Medical Sciences Teaching and Research Complex, Lecture Theatre 3. The aim is to provide students and their parents with information which will help them to make the right choices at a critical time in their academic career.

Public Lecture by The Director General of the IAEA: "The Role of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Nuclear Technology and Sustainable Development"
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), His Excellency Yukiya Amano will make an official visit to Jamaica on Monday, April 4, 2016. As part of the visit, Mr. Amano will be a special guest on The UWI, Mona Campus where he will tour the International Centre for Environmental and Nuclear Sciences (ICENS) meet with students who are pursuing the Medical Physics degree programme offered by the Department of Physics, and pay a courtesy call on Mona Campus Principal, Prof Archibald McDonald.

Reggae Talks - Queen Ifrica
On Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 6:00 p.m., Queen Ifrica will give a talk on her career. The event is part of a series of “Reggae Talks”, hosted by the Department of Literatures in English. Each year, the Department showcases its offerings in film, popular music and literature. The public is invited to attend the talks which take place in Lecture Theatre 1 of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Admission is free

Public Lecture on Writing and Publishing Children’s Literature
The Department of Literatures in English, at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, will host a public lecture on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 6:00pm in Lecture Room N5, Faculty of Humanities and Education. The lecture will be useful to current and aspiring writers and publishers of children’s literature, teachers, and librarians. The lecture will be delivered by Mr. Michael Katz a publisher and lecturer in writing and publishing.

Reggae Talks - Bob Andy
The Department of Literatures in English at UWI, Mona continues its annual “Reggae Talks” in March with Bob Andy, speaking on “Stages On My Journey”. The talk takes place on Tuesday, March 8 at 6:00 p.m. in Lecture Theatre 3, Faculty of Medical Sciences. The public is invited to attend and admission is free. The Reggae Talks, which will be given every Tuesday in March, are part of an annual programme of events highlighting the innovative work of the Department of Literatures in English.
