Maxine Henry-Wilson

Hon. Maxine Henry-Wilson is currently the Minister of Education, Youth & Culture, having been appointed to this position in October 2002.She has an impressive record in public administration, practically, in the classroom, in the office, and the field. She holds an undergraduate degree from the UWI and graduate degrees from UWI and Rutgers. She has lectured at the UWI, has been Minister of state in the Ministry of Finance and Planning, served as Minister Without Portfolio and Minister of Information in the Office of the Prime Minister. She has also served as a Government Senator, specifically, as Leader of Government Business in the Upper House. Accompanying this has been her long and successful sojourn as General Secretary of the People’s National Party. Her dynamic leadership and management were instrumental in the Party’s impressive victories in 1997 and 2002. She is also the Member of Parliament for South Eastern St. Andrew. She is married with a daughter.
