Miguel Ison has a background in Chemistry and is a graduateof the University of the West Indies (UWI) with specialized emphasis on science education. He has over 20 years teaching experience at the secondary and tertiary levels in Grenada and Jamaica. ​At the high school level, he has served in the capacity as Head of Science Department and Vice​ ​Principal. He is currently pursuing an M.Phil/Ph.D. degree in science education at UWI(Mona).​ ​His research interests include student engagement in learning science, STEM, and science teachers' pedagogical practices and their influence on students' learning.
