In the midst of screaming supporters, the UWI Pelicans Male Volleyball Team ridiculed CMI to a 3-0 defeat at home on Thursday in the 2013 Intercollegiate Volleyball Competition.

The match got off to an interesting start with CMI sending signals of possible danger to the Pelicans. The UWI Mona were however equipped with the adequate training and expertise to maneuver the attacks of CMI. It was soon after almost a one-sided affair as the Pelicans took over the driving seat and with much display of prowess cruised to victory before the final whistle.

The Pelican males are currently in second position while the females are ranked number one on the Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship Tables. Both teams will face Montego-bay Community College in a reschedule match on Monday at the UWI Bowl, the first match gets under way at 4:00pm.
