Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have an increased risk of falls. The results of this study demonstrate that RA patients with foot pain/deformities have a higher risk of fall.
The Prevalence of Cognitive Impairment among Older Adults in Jamaica

We estimated the prevalence of cognitive impairment among older adults in Jamaica and identified associated factors. Less than one-third of persons had cognitive impairment and this was associated with older age, lower education and poorer health and physical functioning.

We reviewed the sociodemographic characteristics, maternal, natal and postnatal outcomes of adolescent pregnancy. The maternal, obstetric and natal outcomes were similar in adolescents of 17 years and below compared to those above 17 years.
Tetralogy of Fallot: Report of 30 Cases and Dental Considerations with Review of Literature

There appears to be an increase in dental caries, hypoplasia and periodontal disease in patients with tetralogy of Fallot compared to controls. However, the prognosis of this disease has been enormously improved as a result of cardiac surgery.
Chest Wall Resection and Reconstruction as a Substitute to Treat Malignant Tumours in Chinese Patients

The present study is an attempt to evaluate the pathology, treatment methodologies, role of surgical resection and reconstruction, and consequences of patients with chest wall tumours. Surgical resection, with en bloc removal of involved structures and chest wall reconstruction, provides outstanding local regulator of malignant chest wall tumours.
An Audit of Cardiac Mortality Due to Acute Myocardial Infarction at a Tertiary Institution in the Southwestern Region of Trinidad and Tobago

Acute myocardial infarction mortality affects mainly Indo-Trinidadians versus Afro-Trinidadians (ratio of 5:1), with a general population variation of 2.2:1 (East Indian:African). Males (56.3%) were predominantly affected. Diabetes, hypertension and a combination of diabetes and hypertension accounted for most deaths.
Oedema in the Lumbar Subcutaneous Fat, on Routine Magnetic Resonance Imaging, of Patients with No History of Cardiac, Renal or Hepatic Disease, Is Significantly Associated with Obesity and Age

Obese patients with no history of cardiac, renal or hepatic disease are significantly more likely to have oedema in their lumbar subcutaneous fat on magnetic resonance imaging than patients who are not obese.
Analysis of the Aetiological Distribution and Drug Resistance of Pathogens in Hospitalized Patients with Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

In this study, we analysed the data of patients hospitalized with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) to explore the aetiological distribution and drug resistance of pathogens, so as to enable a reasonable anti-infective treatment therapy and timely and effectively control the disease. We found that patients hospitalized with AECOPD were infected mainly with Gram-negative bacilli and with a higher rate of resistant strains of infection.
