Purpose:

The purpose of the Scholarship is to support the annual cost of tuition, accommodation and other University related expenses associated with obtaining an undergraduate degree at The University of the West Indies (UWI).

Full time student(s) registered at MONA

Duration:

$10,000 annually for 5 years (Total of $50,000)

Value (per Annum):

CAD$

The award covers the following costs as estimated by the UWI:

  • tuition
  • residence fees
  • books and incidentals
  • maintenance

Eligibility:

Applicants should satisfy all of the following criteria:

  1. Jamaican Nationality
  2. Be a Registered full time undergraduate student who completed at least level 1 of the degree programme.

Criteria:

The award will be based on:

  1. Good academic standing
  2. Verifiable financial need 
  3. Involvement in Community / Co-curricular Activities / service.
  4. Satisfying all other requirements of the UWI pertaining to Students’ behaviour and performance.
  5. Students from St. Thomas, Jamaica and very impoverished regions are prioritized over others
