The 7th Cassidy-Le Page Distinguished Lecture

The Department of Language, Linguistics and Philosophy and the Jamaican Language Unit will be once again celebrating International Creole Day by hosting the 7th Cassidy Le Page Distinguished Lecture virtually on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 6:00 PM.

This year's lecture will be given by Shondel Nero, Professor of Language Education at New York University. Her research has focused on the education of Caribbean Creole English speakers, and related issues on linguistic identity and language education policy. She was a Fulbright scholar at UWI, Mona during the 2011-2012 academic year researching the implementation of the Jamaican Language Education Policy in schools.
