Rationale:
The Disabilities Act of Jamaica is now in effect. All education and training institutions are required to implement measures which will redound to the participation, inclusion and non-discrimination against persons with disabilities.

Being the premier academic institution in Jamaica and the institution that has proactively put in place measures to accommodate persons with disabilities, additional measures must be formulated to make UWI Mona more inclusive and participatory for students and employees with disabilities.
It is for this reason the UWICDS is planning these training seminars to sensitize administrative staff and lecturers in how to relate to students and staff with disabilities.
