What We Do at the HPEU
The Health Professions Education Unit (HPEU) is a Unit within the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS), UWI Mona. Formerly established as the Medical Education Unit (MEU) in 2007, the Unit has evolved to meet the growing and diverse educational needs of the Faculty’s expanding health professions programmes. The HPEU supports excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development across all health disciplines, with a strong emphasis on faculty development, quality assurance, and interprofessional collaboration.
Our vision is to provide quality health professions education for all and by all. Our mission is to promote and enhance capacity for quality health professions education within the Faculty of Medical Sciences, UWI Mona teaching and learning community
