BOOST Fellow receives oustanding science teacher award

"I want to share the good news. I was awarded outstanding teacher for the Science Department for the months of September-December, 2022," said Shanique.

We celebrate with Shanique Graham our BOOST Fellow at Clan Carthy High. The UWI/NBCF Building Out Our STEM Teachers (BOOST) programme allows university graduates to give back up to three years in the classroom. In exchange they are refunded their University tuition and can qualify for a generous incentive payment for a job well done.

There are currently 28 BOOST Fellows teaching STEM in 14 high schools across five parishes. BOOST is a partnership between UWI, main sponsor National Baking Company Foundation, and The Mico, National Commercial Bank Foundation, Digicel Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Youth, Jamaica Teaching Council, Student Loan Bureau, National Education Inspector, and American Friends of Jamaica.
