CCPF conducts in-country review of MIAS' led Jamaican Black Castor Oil Project

Ms. Liz Bower, Team Leader, Inclusive Economic Growth, Caribbean, UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) visited the Mona Campus on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 to take a look at the research work being done by the Mona Institute of Applied Sciences (MIAS) team that is aimed at giving Jamaica dominance in the US$300 million per annum Jamaican Black Castor Oil market for which the island currently commands less than US$5 million.

Ms. Brower visit was on behalf of the Compete Caribbean Partnership Facility (CCPF) Grant Funders of project. The CCPF is a private sector development programme that delivers innovative and practical solutions that stimulates economic growth, increase productivity and foster innovation and competitiveness. CCPF works with 13 countries across the Caribbean region and is a partnership between the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), and the Government of Canada.
