Description:
Integrating biophysical and social science research to improve landscape health and ecological services. I also work on a National Science Foundation, Centers of Research Excellence in Science and Technology (NSF) grant with New Mexico Highlands University (USA) focused on improving forest resilience in the southwest USA. This NSF grant strives to increase undergraduate student involvement in professional research, provide research opportunities for graduate students, and facilitate post-university employment as natural resource managers and researchers, particularly for underrepresented minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math fields (STEM). My most recent publication is: A transdisciplinary approach supports community-led water quality monitoring in river basins adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef, Australia (Marine Pollution Bulletin June 2021).
