Mr Isaac Morrison, PhD student in the Natural Products Institute and Dept of Basic Medical Sciences, pursuing a Biochemistry degree is currently on a visiting research scholar program at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, USA. from November 2019 to January 2020. He is examining the potential of a Jamaican natural product with chemopreventive and anti-tumour value against colon cancer.  While there, he has been named a Graduate Mentor for the UMASS Amherst STEM Ambassador Programme. As a graduate mentor he has presented his research findings thus far, and been involved in guiding undergraduate Biochemistry researchers.  The goal of the UMass STEM Ambassadors Program Ambassadors is to increase levels of retention and graduation of STEM students and increase the number of students who enrol in graduate studies or pursue careers in STEM fields.  Students are invited to join the program in their first semester freshman year and join others who share a passion for all things STEM.
