Hurricane Melissa Staff Relief Grant

The University of the West Indies, Mona is committed to the development of a Creative, Caring, Accountable, Motivated, and Professional (CAMP) Team. Recognizing that our team members may have been adversely impacted by Hurricane Melissa, we have launched the Hurricane Melissa Staff Relief Grant Fund, valued at a total of J$15 million, to provide assistance to Western Jamaica Campus (WJC) staff members and any staff member of the Mona Campus whose homes were severely affected by the hurricane.

This initiative underscores our belief that the true strength of the University lies in its people, the relationships we build, the compassion we show, and the accountability we uphold. By extending care and support to colleagues in need, we believe that this nurtures a culture where engagement, empathy, and shared responsibility are at the heart of everything we do.

Together, as one CAMP community, we continue to ensure that our collective resilience and humanity remain the foundation of all that we seek to achieve. We will continue to partner with you to ensure we keep the light rising for the benefit of our nation.
