Application Process

If you are interested in our Exchange Programme, here are five easy steps to help you on your way:

Step 1: Complete the Provisional Incoming Mobility Form

  • Share Your Details: Fill out the provisional form here. This form collects basic information about your exchange plans, helping us support you through the process. Note that this form is not an official application.

Step 2: Speak with Our Mobility Coordinator

  • Initial Consultation: After submitting the provisional form, you will receive an email from our Mobility Coordinator. They will discuss your study abroad plans and guide you through the next steps.

Step 3: Select Your Courses

Step 4: Complete the Application Form

  • Official Application: Access the official application form here. Follow the instructions provided by the Mobility Coordinator to fill it out accurately. 

  • Document Submission: Once completed, notify the Mobility Coordinator via email and submit the necessary documents. The following items must be submitted with the completed application form:
    • A photocopy of your passport data page.
    • An official transcript showing your current registration.
    • Proof of English language proficiency (if you are not a native speaker).
    • A letter of permission from your home institution.
    • Course outlines/descriptions from the selected partner institution that match the UWI courses.

Additional Guidelines

  1. Pre-requisites: Students must meet the pre-requisite requirements for the courses they intend to take.

     
  2. Course Load: Students may register for no more than five (5) courses per semester, but no less than four (4) courses per semester (unless otherwise approved by their home university).

     
  3. Grading Scale & Credit System:

      • UWI Credit System
        • Undergraduate semester-long courses normally carry a weighting of three (3) credits.
        • Courses taught over an academic year (i.e., year long or across Semesters 1 and 2) normally carry a weighting of six (6) credits.
        • No academic credit will be granted for auditing a course.
    • Restricted Courses: Please note that certain courses/programmes are not open to exchange students. Please check with the Exchange/Study Abroad Coordinator for details on the restrictions.
