Alexis K. Samuels received her B.A. First-Class in Literatures in English and Ph.D. in English from The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in Jamaica. She is a past research scholar at The University of Waterloo in Ontario Canada, and a former postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Humanities at Tufts University, Massachusetts. Her research interests reflect her dedication to exploring and understanding the experiences, roles, and psycho-existential position of characters within the context of Caribbean and African Diaspora cultures, as well as their intersections with broader themes of class, gender, sexuality, feminism, and postcolonialism in literature.
