History of MITS

Mona Information Technology Services (MITS) was established as a Department of the Mona Campus in August 2000 in response to a felt need for IT services located in one central body. The first year of the three year implementation plan for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) on the Mona Campus focused on strengthening the ICT infrastructure and providing the hardware and software tools  necessary to support the core administrative and academic processes. See mission statement.

Our staff is organised into four functional units namely User Support Services, Applications, Infrastructure and Instruction Support Systems as well as our Administrative and Procurement section (Office of the C.I.O.).
